Spanish and Australian bigotry

Australia's Attorney General George Brandis recently defended Australian's right to be bigots.

It always amuses me when the privileged and powerful have a tantrum about their rights to abuse others being attacked. I'm afraid in this case Spain and Australia are similar.

A good example of bigotry is the fact that only recently, Spanish Artist Eugenio Merino was taken to court for offending Franco, the fascist dictator who ruled Spain from 1939 till 1975. The Fundación Francisco Franco thought it wasn't an honourable thing to mock the dictator. You can read about it here

Do you think this kind of thing could happen in Australia?
